Time is more valuable than money because we can't make more of it. I'm very grateful to people who spend their time on this site and I try hard to post things that are worth that investment.

That said: money is also quite lovely!

Why support this site by signing up for a paid membership?

• If you like the stuff you've seen here, your membership money will help me keep the site running and keep it updated. It's dead-simple.
• If you've enjoyed the work I've done outside of this site, your membership money will help support my overall mission as a tech journalist. An actual example: a public library has invited me to give a talk, as a free event for their community. They asked me what sort of fee I'd need. I told them that they could get me for the price of a large two-topping pizza. The money I earn from your memberships will help to underwrite all kinds of work, including pro-bono (or: pro-pizza) efforts such as that one.
• The members-exclusive stuff I'm doing is pretty cool. I can't travel to your home and fix your router. But I can express my gratitude in many ways that involve typing.

I hope to gradually introduce new members-exclusive features in the future. During this, the site's opening season, I'm keeping the tiers simple so that I can focus on writing stuff and running the site.
