Blackmagic debuts a new 3D camera to capture video for the Vision Pro, which gets Alex Lindsay very giddy. King Charles III visits Apple’s headquarters in the U.K. What does

Blackmagic announced its long-anticipated URSA Cine Immersive camera, aka "the first off-the-shelf thingy that shoots immersive video for the Vision Pro and other VR headsets." I was sanguine that I was going to spend the first fifteen to twenty minutes of the show listening to Alex and learning a lot.

This was also the week that Apple shipped iOS 18.2, so there was plenty to discuss about the second burp of Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone. Also: Tim Cook hosted King Charles at the Battersea Apple Store, and presented him with a bigass hunk of ceremonial al-yew-MIN-yum.

My Pick Of The Week was my favorite album of holiday music: "Ella Wishes You A Swinging Christmas" (Amazon affiliate link). It's Ella Fitzgerald singing every Christmas song you'd want and expect to hear. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" ruined holiday music for everybody. Yes, definitely in the way you're already thinking. But I also mean that it's utter bonkersplodicious commercial success has driven everybody into recording new holiday music in the hopes that it'll become another mall standard. When really, all we really want for Christmas is "Jingle Bells" and "The Christmas Song" and "Sleigh Bells."
